We’re looking for a communication expert for a new entry-level support desk engineer job with a leading software business. Support Desk Engineer role overview:

You’ll provide 1st and 2nd line support to clients using a range of the company software products. You’ll use your communication and problem-solving skills to support clients and client partners by triaging ticket requests and providing scheduled reports. You'll work with the development team to assess the quality of new software releases and help to provide replication of software defects ready for resolution.

This is a hybrid role of remote & Newbury-based office working with excellent and rapid progression opportunities. Sound good?

Support Desk Engineer responsibilities:  

💻 Provide expert technical support; via ticketing system, phone or email

✍️ Log change requests and follow internal IT Service Management processes and principles

🚀 Take ownership of client problems and be proactive when dealing with client issues

📊 Provide regular reporting, service metrics, ticket explanations and change notes to Technical Client Partners

Support Desk Engineer must-haves:

  • IT qualification (A-Level/BTEC or equivalent)

  • Great communication skills: both written and verbal

  • Strong administration and organisational skills

  • Microsoft Office skills
