About the Role

Pomelo Pay is a high-growth fintech start-up, focuses on mobile payment technologies. We turn merchants’ smartphones into a point-of-sale machine using our proprietary app. No more big, expensive POS machines but an app that merchants can download and start accepting payments. With over 50% of businesses not accepting some form of mobile payments, Pomelo Pay is aiming to bring all businesses into the cashless society using the latest and most innovating mobile technologies. Pomelo Pay is currently experiencing fast growth both within the UK, Europe and Asia and is looking to expand further into these regions in the coming months.

We welcome you to be part of our exciting journey as a junior executive in our Business Development team to help us reach more merchants in the UK!

RESPONSIBILITIES (included but are not limited to):

  • Researching, prospecting potential organisations where their member merchants could use Pomelo Pay products
  • Working with the Business Director to create a strategy to engage, approach and form working relationships with desired partner organisations
  • Chasing BD leads, working with the team to convert them into working partnerships
  • Monitoring, nurturing partners to ensure smooth on-boarding, and on-going support is provided
  • Finding, assessing and then attending relevant events and/ or exhibitions to drive partner lead generation
  • Working with the marketing team to create suitable content and marketing materials for the target audience
  • Reporting KPIs


Who we are looking for:

  • You are educated to degree level (2:1 at least preferably)
  • You are passionate about sales and growing a business
  • You are energetic, with a can-do attitude and passionate about making a difference, and about working/ contributing meaningfully in a young company
  • You are analytical, and have the ability to make great decisions using both data and instinct
  • You are an effective communicator, with good presentation and people skills
  • You are a team player, you understand that teams win together
  • You are self-starting with a drive to succeed and deliver
  • You are organised
  • A plus if you have prior experience in sales/ business development, and/ or have knowledge of the payment industry in the UK

Salary: £20,000 to £25,000 per year

Working hours: Monday to Friday, 9am to 6pm
